{Can I stop and mention for one second that in the process of writing this article from last night to today, for the first time EVER– Microsoft word didn’t attempt to spell check me when I wrote “Obama” it did last night, but not today–I think this is very cool… okay back to the regularly scheduled posting.}
Barack Obama may be too bipartisan for him and he probably is for others too. The beauty of it is he still cares, because he is our President. When his victory was sealed and he said,
“And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn – I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.”
I take this and I see him fulfilling his promises to listen and participate.
With him it’s never this or that simply, it’s this AND that. From the campaign trail when he spoke with Charles Gibson and said,
“On a whole host of these issues, I think we need Republicans, not just as show pieces. In some cases, Republicans have good ideas. And, you know, I’ve always been more than happy to steal good ideas from whatever the source.”
I for one want him working with any and everyone to make this country shine again. Our 43rd President was more of my way or no way type of guy.
Currently our President listens to his opponents; he really listens and welcomes it because he takes it all in to consideration, so he can be confident he’s making the best decisions possible. No matter who you are, if you have a point to be made, you will have you time to make it and be heard. (Case in point the recent internet news conference.)
Rosenthal continued to address Obama’s White House team, speaking of how attentive they are to their press coverage.
“Since Jan. 20, not a day has gone, almost, anyway, close enough, without a call from the administration offering help, guidance, argument or spin on any subject you care to name.”
He spun it as a negative attribute, and to further illustrate his point spoke of an incident where The Times conservative columnist David Brooks was invited to “chat” with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel after he wrote a recent column critical of the president, a chat that the President himself briefly made an appearance during. You say to-ma-toes I say to-mat-oes. (Actually I don’t but you know what I mean)
So far so good. I’ve had no complaints since Jan. 20th. I see no evil with your bipartisan efforts Mr. President. We’re all in this together, Republicans, Democrats you’ve got work to do, so bring your best arguments to the table, all your clashing opinions. The two party system is important because everyone thinking alike all the time doesn’t solve problems or bring about change. Where agendas are concerned there may be an I in Amer’i'ca, but the abbreviated text is still about the us ‘U.S’.A
